“…the River Course at Humber Valley ticks all the boxes. I remembered 14 of the 18 holes in some detail, after only playing it once; and I take the old fashioned view that if a course can leave that sort of impression on me, everything is clearly in the right place.”
- Jack Howard, Golf World, Dec 2006

Hiking
Western Newfoundland offers limitless hiking adventures particularly in Gros Morne National Park. The unique geological formation in the bays, inlets and coves of the Bay of Islands and North Arm Mountains captivate visitors from all over the world. Any of these trails will surround visitors with the peaceful beauty of the west coast.
Additionally the International Appellation Trail (www.iatnl.ca) running from as far south as Florida up the Eastern Seaboard of the United States has recently been extended into Newfoundland and passes directly behind the Resort. The Humber Valley Section brings the walker to lookouts over the peaceful, fertile valley surrounding Deer Lake and with the trail winding through boreal forest, moose, beaver, fox, coyote, lynx and numerous songbirds are to be seen. Each fall, during the early part of October, a palette of vibrant colors envelops the Valley.
