Salmon fishing is a prime summer activity in this region. The Humber River bordering the Resort is one of Canada's best salmon rivers. The river is a deep and deceptively fast body of water that winds through one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world. It is here that competent anglers will enjoy one of their greatest opportunities to land trophy Atlantic Salmon. Fish found in this area are full sized salmon that have spent upwards of two years at sea before returning to spawn and many of the truly large ones, over 30 pounds, are unique to the Humber River. Last year over 26,000 salmon entered the river system. Locals will tell you that landing a salmon on the Lower Humber certifies you are a true salmon angler.
